Dispatch 04 ๐
Keeping this one short as I was busy harvesting today. Hope you had a beautiful weekend!
In time with the Biodynamic Gardening calendar, over the next few days Iโll be focusing on harvesting and pruning/pinching.
The leaves of the Lemon Balm plants are so much bigger this year! Today I harvested 16 bundles for tea and Iโm curious to see how much larger the yield will be once they dry. Next harvest Iโll be aiming to use fresh plant material for a larger batch of alcohol-free Lemon Balm tincture.
Our neighbor gifted us some Catnip and Dustin + Poppy have been loving it! I am going to dry some when these plants are further along in the season, but for now weโve just been crushing it between our fingers for them to lick the oils and chew on the leaves.
The cats love the aromatics of the freshly smashed leaves and get so relaxed + cozy vs the typical โcrazy catโ reaction from store bought Catnip. As seen above - our mini lion pride among the Oat grass. They enjoyed keeping an eye on the chickens free ranging and listening to the birds. A peaceful morning here in Beacon.
If you have cats, let me know if youโd like to try some fresh or dried Catnip from the garden for your kitties to experience :) We can arrange a pickup or shipment.
Until next time!
